What I do now

I am the founder and CEO of GLX Studio, an enterprise AI video personalization platform. We turn a PDF, a deck, or a prompt into finished, personalized video at scale, in 75+ languages, with LLM-driven agents running the full pipeline in production. Fortune 100 customers use it to move conversion numbers that have been stuck for years: a 4x lift (1.2% to 4.8%) and $3.15M in incremental revenue on one program, 50,000+ videos generated, 200%+ quarter-over-quarter customer growth. We also serve regulated healthcare, including US Renal Care, the second-largest dialysis provider in the country.

I am also an Operating Partner at Outhink Venture Studio, where I work directly with portfolio CEOs and boards on go-to-market strategy, product-market fit, revenue growth, and operational scaling. Enterprise SaaS and AI companies, pre-revenue through growth stage.

And I advise. Nearly 20 years of board and advisory work with technology startups and nonprofits across the US and Europe, with particular depth in enterprise SaaS, AI, edtech, and workforce development. Current and recent roles include Strategic Advisor to OurMedia (since 2023), CatNClever Education, and MBZ Labs. In September 2026 I joined the "Agentic AI in US Higher Education" panel at the California Community Colleges Future Summit. In 2019 I traveled with a Silicon Valley delegation to the China International Big Data Industry Expo in Guiyang for the Silicon Valley–Data Valley Dialogue on urban digital transformation.

Cisco: zero to $1B+ ARR

From 2020 to 2022 I led Adoption and Growth for Cisco's Customer and Partner Experience organization. We built Cisco's first cloud-native, AI-enabled SaaS platform, CX Cloud and PX Cloud, and took it from nothing to 4,000+ customers and $250M ARR in two and a half years, doubling revenue nine consecutive quarters with a 100-person global team. Renewal rate: 99.5%. CSAT: twice the company average. The business unit now exceeds $1B in ARR.

The hard part was never the software. It was moving a company that sold hardware to selling subscriptions. I built a new field enablement methodology from scratch and piloted it on a subset of sellers. Trained participants produced 3x more incremental sales within 60 days than peers on the old method, a statistically significant result. That won a mandate from the CEO and Chief Sales Officer for every Cisco seller and field role to complete it: 20,000+ certified in 12 months.

Along the way I stood up Cisco's AI governance program with Security, Legal, and Privacy (red-teaming, PII guardrails, abuse monitoring, staged rollout gates), shipped AI capabilities that cut time-to-first-answer by 50%+, ran customer co-innovation on a forward-deployed engineer model, served as interim Head of Cloud Operations through a global AWS migration with 100+ engineers, and was the M&A subject-matter expert for corporate development. The customer platform work won the 2021 TSIA STAR Award.

The fastest way to lose an enterprise deal has nothing to do with your product.

Declara: the turnaround

I joined Declara, a VC-backed AI learning platform, in 2013 to build the PMO (80+ product, engineering, and QA staff plus an offshore team). As VP of Business Development I closed $7M+ in SaaS licenses in 18 months and cut acquisition cost 30% while growing revenue 200%+ a year. In 2017 I was promoted to CEO. By then the company had 115 employees across four offices in three countries and had never posted a profitable quarter.

We delivered the first one. Cash flow improved 90%. Customer acquisition grew 200%+. Sales cycles shortened 40%. The customer list included the Government of Singapore, the U.S. Department of Education, the Utah and California Departments of Education, Australia's Ministry of Education, Mexico's national teachers' union (SNTE), Stanford, MIT, Penn, WPI, Bristol, UTS, and Genentech and Roche. In 2019 I worked with the board and investors through unsolicited offers and strategic alternatives, and led the negotiations through the acquisition by Futuryng.

Before that

At SchoolOne (2010 to 2013) I ran Customer Success and Business Development: 100% subscription renewal, 1,000%+ year-over-year usage growth, 15,000+ users trained across 100+ K-12 institutions. Acquired.

Along the way I worked on SynapticMash and ActiveProgress, early learning-technology products that shaped how I think about what classrooms will actually adopt.

Before SchoolOne I co-founded Interactive Purchasing Solutions, an e-commerce and fulfillment platform for private and parochial schools. We raised seed funding, grew 300%+ a year, and signed 15 of the top 20 boarding schools in the country before the company was acquired.

I started at Clark University, where I founded the school's first student-run entrepreneurship group, Initial Advantage, spun it out as an independent 501(c)(3), and co-chaired its board for eight years. My first company, The Campus Book Brokerage, returned 7.1% to its investors in eight weeks.

How I operate

  • Data over opinion. Every decision gets a number attached to it, and the number gets revisited.
  • Revenue is a product problem. If the sales motion is hard, the product is usually unclear. Fix the product.
  • People change slower than software. The $1B at Cisco came from retraining 20,000 humans, not from the platform.
  • No sugar-coating. Direct feedback, fast. It is the kindest thing you can do for a team.

Early press

The Clark years got written up at the time: the Worcester Telegram & Gazette on Interactive Purchasing Solutions (2006), Penelope Trunk on how a mentor turned a student club into a company (2006), a Worcester Magazine cover feature on Clark's entrepreneurship program (2007), and a piece Aaron O'Hearn and I wrote for Young Money magazine, "The Highs and Lows of Entrepreneurship" (March 2007), on taking a textbook buyback table in the Clark library to a company serving the country's top boarding schools. Off the clock

I live in Menlo Park, California. I like to build things.

Let's talk.

Founders, CEOs, and boards: I respond to every message.
